Sheikh Hasina has landed at Hindon Air Base in a C-130 transport aircraft, reported news agency ANI. The move of Hasina comes as the airport remains under protection with fewer flights operating from the base. The aircraft will be parked near the Indian Air Force’s C-17 and C-130J Super Hercules aircraft hangars. The aircraft movement was monitored by Indian Air Force and security agencies from its entry into Indian airspace to Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad, reported ANI quoting its sources. Hindon Airport is a Civil Enclave in Ghaziabad Distt. of Uttar Pradesh, operated by the Airports Authority of India at Hindan Air Force Station. It is the second commercial airport in the Delhi NCR which is around 24km from New Delhi Railway Station connected by Major Mohit Sharma Rajender Nagar Metro Station of Ghaziabad, after Indira Gandhi International Airport,Delhi. This airport built to handle domestic flights operating under the Government's Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) operated by Airports authority of India.

UPI transactions in the first three months of the current fiscal have grown over 36% to Rs 60 lakh crore, Parliament was informed on Monday. As per the details of UPI transactions shared by Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in the Lok Sabha, 4,122 crore UPI transactions worth Rs 60 lakh crore took place between April and June in 2024-25. In the April-June period, 2,762 crore UPI transactions took place, having a value of Rs 44 lakh crore. For the full fiscal 2023-24, 13,113 crore UPI transactions were made with a value of Rs 200 lakh crore.

LIC on Monday said its office in Bangladesh will remain closed till August 7. Over 100 people were killed in the last two days in fierce clashes between security forces personnel and anti-government protesters in different parts of Bangladesh, according to reports from Dhaka. In a regulatory filing, LIC said, «The office of LIC of Bangladesh Ltd will remain closed during the period from August 05, 2024 to August 07, 2024, due to the prevailing socio-political situation in Bangladesh.» The government of Bangladesh has declared a curfew for 3 days from August 05, 2024, to August 07, 2024, LIC said.

Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund has announced the launch of Aditya Birla SL Nifty India Defence Index Fund, an open-ended index fund that replicates the Nifty India Defence Total Return Index. The new fund offer or NFO of the scheme will open for subscription on August 9 and will close on August 23. French Air and Space Force will participate in India's first multilateral air exercise, Tarang Shakti-2024, which is set to begin at Air Force Station Sulur in Tamil Nadu on August 6. The French contingent will comprise three Rafale fighter jets, one Multirole Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft, and one A400M, with a total of 160 Air Force personnel, according to French Embassy in India press release. In the press release, the French Embassy in India stated, «Three other nations are participating in the first phase of this exercise, including EU Member States Germany and Spain, which have been partners of the Pacific Skies deployment from Alaska to India.»

Army troops opened fire after noticing the movement of two groups of infiltrators along the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor and Sunderbani sectors of Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Monday, officials said. Though there was no exchange of fire, a massive search operation is underway in both areas to ensure that there is no infiltration from across the border, they said. Alert Army troops fired after picking up suspicious movement of three to four infiltrators in a forward area in the Battal sector of Akhnoor on the outskirts of Jammu around 1.30 am, the officials said. The area was illuminated with flares and put under surveillance through drones with reinforcements mobilised to lay a tight cordon. A search operation was launched at first light, they said.
