Chaotic symphony! AR Rahman’s concert in Chennai hits a wrong note after netizens slam organisers for mismanagement & overcrowding
Maestro AR Rahman has hit the headlines for the wrong reasons. The Oscar-winning composers' latest live music concert at Chennai, ‘Marakkuma Nenjam’ has been widely condemned by fans for mismanagement. Many disgruntled fans accused the organisers of making the live show a scam, alleging they sold innumerable tickets despite having limited seats. Others claimed that even after paying Rs 5000 per ticket, many fans were made to stand outside the venue. Some alleged that the volume system was faulty and that viewers seated further away from the stage could not hear anything. Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan shared a video of a furious fan tearing up the ticket and wrote, “Disappointed #ARRahman fan tore #MarakkumaNenjam concert tickets and says this is indeed an unforgettable event and a worst gift from A R Rahman to the people.” Another disappointed fan urged the icon to take responsibility. “Most of them return with big disappointment.People are not allowed even if they have tickets.

REIT monetisation potential prompts retail-led realty assets’ single ownership structures
real estate assets through the Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) has infused higher transparency in transaction and management structures of these assets and realtors are now aiming to develop investment grade assets with single ownership structure. The developers have started appreciating that retail is a specialized asset class that constantly requires upgradation of tenant mix and the property with focus on parameters such as zoning and mall management to ensure monetization of the asset. Indian retail-led real estate is expected to witness a supply of over 38 million sq ft between the second half of 2023 and 2027. Of the existing retail real estate stock across the top seven cities of India, around 44 million sq ft of retail assets offer a potential to be listed as a REIT and of these, more than half are in Mumbai and NCR-Delhi region, showed data from JLL India. “India’s retail sector is on an elevated growth curve where the focus is on creating an innovative built environment, greater connections with the consumers, and curating physical storefronts in untapped regions of the country including tier II and III cities,” said Rahul Arora, Head of Office Leasing Advisory and Retail Services, India, JLL. Following the success of three office properties-led REITs, India’s public markets saw the launch of the first retail assets-led REIT, Nexus Select Trust, earlier this year.

BMW to make 'multi-million' pound investment in UK plants: Govt
car giant BMW is to make a multi-million pound investment in its Mini plants in the UK, the government in London said Monday. The money will be used to «transform» BMW's plant in Oxford, southern England, «securing 4,000 high-quality jobs and strengthening the electric vehicle supply chain,» the government said in a press release. «BMW's investment is another shining example of how the UK is the best place to build cars of the future,» said Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. «By backing our car manufacturing industry, we are securing thousands of jobs and growing our economy right across the country,» he added, with his government having offered tens-of-millions of pounds in support for BMW. The first generation of the iconic British vehicle's electric model was launched at the Oxford plant in 2019, but last year BMW announced most of its electric cars would be made in China. The investment is expected to be used to make the plant fit for making electric vehicles, with all Minis set to be electric by 2030. «Today's announcement by BMW, coming a week after electric vehicle production started at Stellantis's site at Ellesmere Port, clearly shows that the government's plan for the automotive sector is working,» said Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch.
