Did two 'Love Is Blind' couples break up over US President Donald Trump?
Love Is Blind has always explored unconventional paths to romance, but its latest season took an unexpected political turn. The season finale, which aired this month, saw two engaged couples call off their weddings—reportedly over their differing political views, as mentioned in a report by Politico. The influence of US President Donald Trump on romantic relationships became a central talking point, sparking widespread debate among fans and political commentators alike. The issue of politics creeping into relationships is not new, but the show's dramatic unraveling of engagements highlighted how ideological differences are increasingly shaping personal connections. With the 2024 presidential election looming, the cultural and political divide in the United States appears to have left its mark on the reality dating scene as well.

The greatest missed investment in Shark Tank's history: Would you have made the offer?
Shark Tank, where fortunes are made and dreams are crushed in mere minutes, one missed opportunity still haunts the show's history. It was a moment of rejection that later turned into a billion-dollar regret. Back in 2013, a passionate entrepreneur walked into the Shark Tank, seeking funding for his innovative startup. His pitch lasted just nine minutes, and when he walked away empty-handed, it seemed like another routine dismissal. But what the Sharks didn’t realize at that moment was that they had just let go of a company that would soon become a household name—one that Amazon would later acquire for a staggering $1 billion.

4% reservations in govt contracts against law, Congress will face consequences: Anurag Thakur
Speaking to ANI, Thakur said, «Congress believes in the politics of appeasement, Divide and Rule. At the direction of Rahul Gandhi, the play staged by Karnataka Congress leaders clearly shows that to gain Muslim votes, a 4 per cent reservation is being given in government contracts.» He claimed that the Karnataka government's decision to provide 4 per cent reservation to minority contractors is against the law and added that they will have to face consequences. «This is against the law, and they would also have to face the consequences. Congress has not learnt anything even after so many defeats,» Thakur said. The Karnataka state cabinet approved an amendment to the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement (KTPP) Act, which aims to provide 4 per cent reservation in tenders to Minority contractors.

Why the Pentagon scuttled its briefing of Musk on war plans
Musk's planned visit to a secure room in the Pentagon was called off after The New York Times published its article on the visit, according to a person with knowledge of the matter. On Friday morning, Trump denied that the briefing had been planned. But he also made clear that he thought Musk should not have access to such war plans. «Certainly, you wouldn't show it to a businessman who is helping us so much,» Trump said. He added, «Elon has businesses in China, and he would be susceptible perhaps to that.» I called Eric Schmitt, a Times national security reporter, who kindly stepped into one of the few Pentagon hallways where you can actually get cell service, and asked him to bring us up to speed.

India's travel boom: How Maha Kumbh and wedding season sparked record air traffic
But the Maha Kumbh, and an unusually long wedding season, have upended that maxim this year, making this three-month period as busy a season as any for tour planners, hoteliers, as well as airlines alike. Data from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) showed Indian carriers ferried 14 million passengers on the domestic sector in February- barely 6% fewer than what they did in the festive month of December.

Nike's comeback plans threatened by tariffs, overstocked shelves
Nike's turnaround effort is hitting snags as the company tries to clear out old inventory while feeling the effects of a growing trade war. The sportswear maker signaled further declines in revenue and profitability due to an ongoing merchandise reset that the company says is necessary to renew growth. Nike also expects gross margin to decline sharply in the current quarter from a year earlier, in part due to US tariffs on products from China and Mexico. Chief executive officer Elliott Hill, a longtime Nike executive who came out of retirement to take the top role in October, is looking to guide the company back to growth after a difficult year of falling sales and corporate layoffs. He's reshaping Nike by refocusing on sports and mending relationships with its retail partners. Nike is in the midst of clearing out stale merchandise through heavy discounting as demand fades for some of its biggest sneaker franchises, including Air Force 1s and Dunks. Inventory fell 2% in the period but Chief Financial Officer Matt Friend said those levels remain «elevated across all categories.» The company is trying to turn things around against a backdrop of weak consumer spending and fallout from President Donald Trump's escalating trade war. China also remained a weak spot, with sales missing analyst expectations amid a prolonged consumer slump in the market. But performance in North America and the region that includes Europe, Africa and the Middle East came in better than expected.

North Korea tests-fires new weapons and welcomes Russian security chief
Kim Jong Un. Traditional allies Russia and North Korea have drawn closer since Moscow's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, with Seoul accusing Kim of sending thousands of troops and container loads of weapons to help Moscow fight Kyiv. Neither Moscow nor Pyongyang has officially confirmed the troop deployment, but the two countries signed a sweeping military deal last year, including a mutual defence clause, when Russian President Vladimir Putin made a rare visit to the nuclear-armed North. Moscow's top security official Sergei Shoigu was visiting North Korea on Friday, Russian news agency TASS reported, the latest in a recent series of high-level exchanges between North Korea and Russia. Shoigu passed on «greetings and best wishes» from Putin to Kim in a meeting with the North Korean leader.

real estate market recorded 19,012 property registrations during the month of February 2025. The city generated over Rs 712 crores in stamp duty collections from property registrations in February, marking a 7.6% on-year and 12% sequential rise. This increase in stamp duty revenue was driven by a higher share of transactions involving properties priced at Rs 1 crore and above.
