Bengaluru couple transforms daughter’s lemonade stand into a thriving pop-up restaurant making over $15,000 a month
masala dosas at a Brooklyn park—has now become a thriving pop-up restaurant bringing in over $15,000 a month. Swetha and Venkat Raju, a Bengaluru-born couple living in New York, never imagined their daughter's playful business venture would transform into a sought-after culinary experience, now known as Brooklyn Curry Project. According to a report from CNBC Make It, it all began in May 2021 when their daughter, Mahati, wanted to set up a lemonade stand near Fort Greene Park’s Green Market. Instead of just drinks, Swetha, an ardent home cook, decided to whip up some masala dosas—crispy, crepe-like South Indian pancakes filled with spiced potatoes. To their surprise, the dosas were an instant hit. Customers took a bite, their eyes widened, and soon, the family found themselves at the center of a growing frenzy.

Frustrated employee warns against working for family-owned firms. 'MBA, experience doesn't matter'
The employee, who had spent three years working in such an organization both before and after completing his MBA, highlighted several key challenges that hinder career growth and overall job satisfaction in such environments. One of the foremost issues he pointed out was the rigid hierarchical structure. According to him, no matter how prestigious one's educational background might be or how extensive their work experience is, rising to the top echelons of leadership within a family-run company is nearly impossible. The uppermost positions, he observed, were invariably reserved for members of the owning family, making it difficult for outsiders to break through into senior leadership roles.

Microsoft's Bill Gates reveals why he won't share his hard-earned wealth with his kids
Bill and his ex-wife Melinda Gates have three children together: Jennifer, Rory and Phoebe. «Well, I think everybody gets to decide on that. In my case, my kids got a great upbringing, education, but less than 1% of the total wealth because I decided it wouldn’t be a favor to them. It’s not a dynasty. I’m not asking them to run Microsoft. I want to give them a chance to have their own earnings and success, be significant and not overshadowed by the incredible luck and good fortune I had,» said Microsoft's Bill Gates. «Different families see that differently. I think the people who’ve made fortunes from technology are less dynastic and so they’ll even take their capital and give a lot of that away. You can have the view of giving away your capital or just giving away your earnings. And, of course, I love all philanthropy, but the tech sector is probably the most aggressive about giving most of it away,» added Gates during an interview with

Apple fined 150 million euros by France over app tracking privacy feature
Apple a 150-million-euro ($162-million) fine on Monday over its app tracking privacy feature, which is also under scrutiny in several other European countries. The watchdog said the way Apple implemented its App Tracking Transparency (ATT) software was «neither necessary nor proportionate to the company's stated goal to protect user data» and also penalised third-party publishers. In addition to the fine, Apple will have to publish the decision on its website for seven days. Authorities in Germany, Italy, Romania and Poland have opened similar probes over ATT, which Apple promotes as a privacy safeguard. «While we are disappointed with today's decision, the French Competition Authority has not required any specific changes to ATT,» Apple said in a statement.

Crypto’s Trumpian embrace is leaving Bitcoin’s big rival behind
Buterin was long viewed as the wunderkind of the cryptocurrency world. The gawky, playful founder of Ethereum — known for his rainbow-colored, animal-themed shirts — created the biggest competitor to Bitcoin and offered a techno-utopian vision that was supposed to change the financial system and our everyday digital lives. But after capturing the imaginations of both corporate America and Wall Street, Buterin’s project is now struggling to deliver on its early promise as it enters its second decade, having fallen out of step in an industry transformed by the embrace of Donald Trump. Developers have been fleeing, early followers are angry and the token on the network — Ether — has lagged both Bitcoin and its smaller competitors.
