Telegram Fighting students information testing Courts States will legally fight to scrap NEET, says Karnataka Medical Education minister, demands CBI probe
NEET, days after deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar demanded the states be allowed to conduct their own entrance exams. He demanded a CBI enquiry into the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET)-2024 in the wake of the exam’s on-going grace marks controversy, terming it a scam of the Modi-government. “The central government’s reluctance to order a probe despite the exposure of this massive scam raises doubts in the minds of the people. All the state governments have demanded a CBI probe. We don’t know if the Centre is trying to shield the culprits. The Modi government is playing with the future of 24 lakh students across the country,” Patil said. The state, however, could not outrightly reject the NEET, he added, as the law was enacted by the Central government and backed by a Supreme Court order. “The Tamil Nadu government has expressed its position, we need to fight legally. The Apex Court has told the Centre to accept if it has bungled. It’s sad that the Centre is not taking this seriously even as students and parents continue their protests across the country,” he said.

Election students country Department Podcasts Colleges Interviews Donald Trump proposes green cards for foreign grads of US colleges, departing from anti-immigrant rhetoric
Donald Trump has said in an interview that he wants to give automatic green cards to foreign students who graduate from US colleges, a sharp departure from the anti-immigrant rhetoric he typically uses on the campaign trail. Trump was asked about plans for companies to be able to import the «best and brightest» in a podcast taped Wednesday with venture capitalists and tech investors called the «All-In». «What I want to do and what I will do is you graduate from a college, I think you should get automatically as part of your diploma a green card to be able to stay in this country. And that includes junior colleges too, anybody graduates from a college. You go there for two years or four years,» he said, vowing to address this concern on day one. Immigration has been Trump's signature issue during his 2024 bid to return to the White House. His suggestion that he would offer green cards — documents that confer a pathway to US citizenship — to potentially hundreds of thousands of foreign graduates would represent a sweeping expansion of America's immigration system that sharply diverges from his most common messages on foreigners.

Career awards community students testing Schools rowing NEET NET Result: Nearly 3.3 mn students affected as govt agency fails the test
UGC-NET exams this year. Until now, allegations of fraud and paper leaks were linked to only some state exams. An estimated 2.4 million science stream students just out of school have been trapped by allegations of exam paper leak to row over awarding grace marks related to NEET. If this was not misery enough for the student community and parents, the overnight cancellation of UGCNET for doctorate aspirants has added to their woes. Though both exams are very different in terms of career options, they are conducted by the National Testing Agency and are currently pen-paper tests. The health ministry resisted an online format for NEET, while UGC-NET successfully run as a computer-based test (CBT) since 2018 was suddenly moved to a paper-based optical mark reader (OMR) test this year, baffling many as tests do not move back from online to pen-paper mode normally.
