Oracle said on Wednesday it would provide Singapore's defense technology arm with «isolated» cloud computing and AI services, in the company's first such deal in Southeast Asia. Southeast Asian governments are frequent targets of cyber espionage campaigns and are facing escalating supply chain attacks, according to security researchers. Under the deal, the US firm will provide Singapore's armed forces and defense ministry with an «air-gapped» isolated cloud computing infrastructure — meaning that it will be cut off from the internet and connected instead to classified networks via encrypted devices.

Judge blocks Elon Musk's DOGE from more USAID cuts, cites likely unconstitutionality
Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) likely violated the Constitution by dismantling the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), indefinitely blocking DOGE from making further cuts. The ruling requires the Trump administration to restore email and computer access to all USAID employees, including those on administrative leave. However, it does not reverse firings or fully reinstate the agency. In one of the first lawsuits directly targeting Musk, U.S. District Judge Theodore Chuang in Maryland rejected the Trump administration’s claim that Musk is merely an adviser to President Donald Trump. Citing Musk’s public remarks and social media posts, Chuang found that Musk has “firm control over DOGE.” He highlighted a post in which Musk claimed to have “fed USAID into the wood chipper.” The judge warned that USAID’s ability to fulfill its legal obligations had likely been compromised. “Taken together, these facts support the conclusion that USAID has been effectively eliminated,” Chuang wrote in the preliminary injunction.

Zelenskyy accuses Russia of rejecting ceasefire as fresh strikes hit Ukraine
Washington has been pushing for a full, 30-day ceasefire as a first step towards a wider settlement of the grinding three-year-old war. But in a 90-minute call with Donald Trump on Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin refused, insisting that any such deal would be contingent on the West halting all military aid for Ukraine. According to the Kremlin, Putin has already ordered his military to pause strikes against Ukrainian energy targets for 30 days. The highly anticipated Putin-Trump call also resulted in the announcement that Russia and Ukraine will exchange 175 prisoners each on Wednesday.

Nagpur Violence: Nearly 45 people arrested; VHP demands strictest action against perpetrators
VHP on Tuesday condemned the violence in Maharashtra's Nagpur over a demand to remove Mughal emperor Aurangzeb's tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and sought «strictest action» against those involved. At least 45 people have been arrested in connection with the violence that erupted on Monday, Nagpur district guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Tuesday. As many as 34 police personnel and five other persons suffered injuries in the incident, he added. Condemning the incident, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) general secretary (organisation) Milind Parande alleged that «a section» of a particular community carried out attacks and arson. «Houses of our youth wing Bajrang Dal workers were attacked, they targeted many houses… The Vishva Hindu Parishad condemns all this in the strongest terms,» he said in a statement. «It is extremely shameful that, on one hand, a lie was spread that the Hindu community had burnt the verses… on the other hand, a despicable attempt was made to incite violence. Strictest action should be taken against all such anti-social elements,» he added. The senior VHP functionary said glorification of Aurangzeb's tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar should be stopped and no thought given to improve it.
