Hitachi Payment Services has launched India's first upgradable ATMs wherein, an ATM unit can be converted to a cash recycling machine (CRM) as and when a bank needs it, eliminating the need for a separate CRM. This can be done at a bank branch, and offsite as well. Most banks offer deposit services at branches, and withdrawals can happen at off-branch locations. With a way to upgrade ATMs to CRMs, banks eliminate the need to replace ATMs. These machines will be UPI-enabled for cash deposit and withdrawal.

Naveen Jindal group is finalising a Rs 15,000 crore investment plan for the development of renewable energy projects which could become a source of captive clean fuel for its expanding steelmaking operations, said people with knowledge of the matter. Jindal is the promoter of the listed Jindal Steel and Power, which has announced a major capacity expansion that could ramp up the group’s steelmaking operations to around one and a half times the existing size before the close of 2025-26. As per the blueprint being finalised, the group wants to power the new steel capacity additions by creating 4 gigawatts (GW) of renewable power sources in-house within the next couple of years, said the people. This would help the group reduce carbon emissions and produce green steel, they said.

Mahindra Finance on Tuesday said it has detected about Rs 150 crore fraud in its retail vehicle loan portfolio in one of the company's branches and deferred its board meeting to approve the financial results for 2023-24. In a regulatory filing, the company said a new date for the board meeting will be informed later. Prasad, with 36 years of experience, is a former Managing Director & CEO of SBI Cards & Payment Services Ltd and PNB Housing Finance Ltd, a company statement said. The Kolkata-based Kanorias previously controlled the twin companies of SIFL and Srei Equipment Finance Company till RBI superseded their boards over alleged mismanagement in October 2021 and subsequently initiated IBC proceedings. However, NARCL successfully acquired the companies under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) initiated by RBI to resolve over Rs 32,000 crore debt of the NBFCs.
