Zomato, Flipkart, Ola, Meesho, Gameskraft, HiLabs, Roombr, Myntra, PhonePe, Quicksell, Indus Insights, Groww, WinZo, Cars24, Battery Smart and NoBroker are among these companies visiting campuses such as the National Institutes of Technology, Birla Institute of Technology & Science Pilani, Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Indian Institutes of Technology. The domains they are recruiting for include software development, data science, product analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Campuses said not only has there been a spurt in the number of such companies visiting — in a few cases, more than double compared with last year — but several of them are also hiring in larger numbers.
According to sources at the placement cells of multiple institutes, salaries on offer mostly range from Rs 8-12 lakh and go up to Rs 1 crore-plus.
At IITs, where placements started on Sunday, offers already made or lined up by startups in the coming days include Rs 16-18 lakh-plus (Quicksell and Indus Insights); Cars24 around Rs 26 lakh, Myntra Rs 30-lakh plus, PhonePe around Rs 34 lakh; Rs 35-50 lakh by Meesho, said placement sources. Some of these packages include joining bonuses, variable pay, relocation allowances and stock options and some of these companies have hired for more than one profile, at different salaries.
