Akshay Kumar recently revealed that some producers did not pay him his dues. In an interview with Mama Earth founder Ghazal Alagh, Bollywood’s ‘Khiladi’ asked her if a client ever cheated on her. He then went on to reveal how he was not paid by some producers.
The ‘Hera Pheri’ star refused to take names and said he ceased communicating with the producer after being cheated on. «This is something we have in common. Main uske baad main usse baat hi nahin karta, chup ho jaata hoon apna side mein nikal jaata hoon… ek do producers ki payment nahin aati hain and that is cheating only… (I just don't talk to that person, who cheats me. I go quiet… it has happened to me. A few producers haven't cleared my dues),» he told the entrepreneur.
The superstar recently appeared in the drama film ‘Sarfira’. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the movie is an official remake of the 2020 Tamil movie ‘Soorarai Pottru’ starring Suriya, Paresh Rawal, and Aparna Balamurali. The film drew inspiration from the life of G. R. Gopinath, the founder of the Indian low-cost airline Simplifly Deccan, as recounted in his memoir 'Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey.'
The original movie bagged five National Film Awards, including Best Feature Film and Best Actor.
However, the Hindi remake failed to make an impact at the box-office. Made on a budget of Rs 80 crore, it earned a meagre Rs 24 crore.
