Badarpur Assembly constituency, located in the southeastern district of Delhi, was established in 2008 following the reorganization by the Delimitation Commission. It is part of the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, which includes nine other assembly constituencies: Bijwasan, Sangam Vihar, Ambedkar Nagar, Chhatarpur, Deoli, Kalkaji, Tughlakabad, Palam, and Mehrauli. Known for the NTPC Thermal Power Station and Badarpur village, it has a rich history.
Several exit polls suggest BJP has a slight edge over AAP, which has been in power since 2015.
Counting will begin at 8 am, with early trends expected soon after. The Election Commission reported a 60.54% voter turnout on Wednesday.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva has predicted nearly 50 seats for his party, while AAP has dismissed exit polls, confident it will retain power with Arvind Kejriwal serving as chief minister for the fourth term.
