In 2024, Delhi-NCR recorded 12.4 crore orders, surpassing Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan combined, which collectively accounted for approximately 10 crore orders. Bengaluru placed 30 lakh more orders than Mumbai, yet Mumbai tipped about Rs 3 crore more than Bengaluru.
Zomato’s busiest day was May 12, with 34.8 lakh orders. Conversely, January 29 witnessed the lowest volume, with 16.8 lakh orders. The report underscores the continued growth of quick commerce and food delivery platforms.
The demand for quick commerce platforms, including Zomato, Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto, soared on New Year’s Eve 2024. Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa noted on X, “We have already crossed the total number of orders we did on NYE 2023. Happened around 5 pm today!” Dhindsa added that Blinkit achieved its highest-ever daily orders, orders per minute, and total tips given to delivery partners in a single day.
