«They are asking for an additional 10 lakh rupees, which I don't have the capacity to pay, and I cannot ask my parents to pay further,» claimed Puneet Khurana, a businessman, in a video he recorded before allegedly killing himself at his residence in Model Town on Tuesday.
A part of the 59-minute video has surfaced, in which Puneet, 40, is seen describing the circumstances «that forced him to take the extreme step». «I am recording my final statement. I am about to die by suicide because I am extremely tortured by my in-laws and my wife,» he said.
«We have already filed for mutual divorce on certain agreed terms and conditions...We at least committed to respect the court and agreed to fulfil those conditions within the stipulated time period, which is usually allotted by the court for 180 days. Now, we are approximately 90 days through the stipulated time period, with another 90 days to go,» added the bakery owner further.
He further alleged that his wife and in-laws were now pressuring him to accept a new set of conditions. He added that they were asking for an additional Rs 10 lakh, «which was beyond his capacity». «I cannot ask my parents to pay
