India has appointed Sundaresan Narayanan as managing director, according to a company statement.
Narayanan who has spent 16 years with the company was previously sales director for India. He has also worked at the company’s US headquarters.
He will be heading the company’s commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) business, the mainstay of its operations.
Carrier has announced a plan to exit its commercial refrigeration and fire and security businesses globally as well as in India.
Narayanan completed a bachelor of engineering degree from the University of Madras. He also has a master of science degree from Western Michigan University and a master of business administration degree from Indiana University.
He will report to Arun Bhatia who heads Carriers South Asia Pacific region and is based in Singapore.
