According to Daily Beast, Darren Beattie was dismissed in the year 2018 after it was revealed that he spoke at a conference associated with white nationalists only. Now, his appointment has raised some serious concerns due to his history of promoting conspiracy theories while including unfounded claims regarding the January 6 Capitol riot.
During a recent podcast appearance, Darren Beattie reiterated his controversial views while alleging that the FBI was aware of pipe bombs left at congressional offices and then accusing former US President Joe Biden of orchestrating a cover up, asserted Daily Beast. He has also been extremely critical of the US foreign policy specifically regarding aid to Ukraine and has made serious statements that some consider racially charged.
The Anti-Defamation League previously condemned the appointment of Darren Beattie to the Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad while citing his associations with extremist groups, noted Daily Beast. In spite of this backlash, he has still maintained a prominent position within the circle of US President Donald Trump and now continues to influence the approach of the administration to public diplomacy.
