Fast X aka Fast & Furious 10 (Part I) released in theaters worldwide on May 19, 2023. The film was well received, with an ensemble cast, cameos, and post-credit scenes. Before Fast X was released, Vin Diesel had hinted at the Fast X world premiere that there will be at least two more films in the Fast Saga. The earlier plan was to have just Fast X Part II and end the franchise. However, after Diesel’s remark, there has been talk of a possible trilogy of Fast X.
Will there be a Fast X Trilogy?Director Louis Leterrier, who replaced Justin Lin one week after Fast X began filming, said that Vin Diesel may just have said something about a trilogy to get off the media. «The one thing about Vin is like when he’s on a press line, he will say anything to get out of that press line,” he told Total Film. “And I’m kind of like him and go, 'Yeah, sure, we will go to the moon in the next one. Bye.' And then you never forget,» the director said. The changes Louis brought in when he took over, ended in making $719 million worldwide at the box office for Fast X, making it the fourth highest-grossing movie of 2023 until August. However, the Fast X Trilogy may be considered in the future after the second film is complete. “One movie at a time,” he said. “The one thing that Hollywood keeps reminding us is that it's one step at a time, put one foot forward at a time. Let's count our blessings. We're very lucky this movie was well-received and well-loved, people went to see it in a movie theater and now they’re going to see it at home.
