Kournikova, originally from Russia, had a promising tennis career before retiring at the age of 21 due to persistent injuries. She spent eight years on the professional circuit, achieving notable success before stepping away from the sport. She reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 8 in 2000 and secured the No. 1 doubles ranking in 1999. Many credit her with popularizing women’s tennis in Russia and inspiring a new generation of talented players who have since dominated the international stage.
Since her retirement, Kournikova has largely stayed out of the public eye, focusing on her personal life with Iglesias. The couple first met in 2001 on the set of his music video for «Escape,» and their relationship has remained strong over the years. Despite their fame, they have maintained a low profile, choosing to keep most aspects of their personal lives private.
