With promises of a monthly salary of Rs 2 lakh, the pair believed the opportunity could change their lives for the better. However, their experience in Russia turned into a nightmare they would never forget.
Upon arriving in Russia on January 17, 2024, Rakesh and Brajesh, along with others, were tested for physical fitness and then secretly whisked away for combat training.
«We were sent to undisclosed locations for 15 days of combat training with modern weapons, and then transported in military trucks to fight against Ukrainian forces,» Rakesh recalled.
What seemed like a promising opportunity quickly turned into a battle for survival.
