Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), including Ahmedabad, Indore, Kozhikode, Raipur, Nagpur and Sirmaur.
On graduating from these institutes, the young managers/leaders are expected to be equipped to take key decisions at the board-room and corporate levels with management learnings from ancient Indian heritage and culture.
The unique courses cover management learnings from Indian philosophy, ancient Indian ethos, science of happiness, Kautilya's Arthashastra, negotiation skills based on the Mahabharata and workplace wellbeing through karma yoga. These courses, most of which are in the pipeline, will be credit-based electives and are in line with the National Education Policy 2020.
The policy proposes the revision and revamping of all aspects of the education structure, including its regulation and governance, to create a new system that is aligned with the aspirational goals of 21st century education, including the sustainable development goal on quality education (SGD4), while building upon India's traditions and value systems, the NEP policy document states.
IIM-Ahmedabad is offering brand new courses on Indian philosophy, ancient Indian economy and management through its new online offering for any learner (even outside of IIMA).
«For introducing new courses relevant to Indian business philosophy, our programme review committee is currently looking at how to adapt our syllabus in line with NEP 2020,» said director Bharat Bhaskar.
Content on Indian Thought in Management and Gandhian leadership is being introduced through courses, seminars and symposiums in the new year, said Debashis Chatterjee, director, IIM-Kozhikode. In the current year, IIM-Kozhikode has introduced a new course titled 'Workplace wellbeing
