Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha on Saturday inaugurated multipurpose cinema halls in Baramulla and Handwara areas of northern Kashmir reiterating the pledge to set up a cinema hall in every district of the union territory and provide the big-screen experience to the people. Sinha, during the inauguration function at Dak Bunglow of Baramulla said that cinema is returning to northern Kashmir after three decades and movie theatres are a reflection of growing aspiration of J&K. “The 100-seater multipurpose cinema halls at both the locations will provide a big-screen experience.
It has a cafe, VR, conference and seminar facilities for youth,” said Sinha. According to Rahul Nehra of Jadooz Media, who have set up the cinema hall here under Public Private Partnership model, the first movie to screen here is Shahrukh Khan starrer Pathaan. The LG also clarified that no outsider would be given land in J&K under the PMAY scheme.
He informed that the administration has decided to give landless families 5 malras of land each under the PMAY scheme so that they can construct their own houses. “So far, 1,99500 homes have been sanctioned for homeless families. This includes 46000 SC and ST category families who were eligible for the scheme.
