Jen Psaki, Vice President Kamala Harris is the most qualified contender to succeed President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee if he withdraws. In response to claims that Harris is too unpopular to be the front-runner, Psaki defended Harris's campaigning and communication skills in an appearance with the podcast «Pod Save America,» as reported by 'Yahoo News'.
Psaki suggested that Harris's lack of popularity could be the result of the general public's underappreciation of her accomplishments. She also brought up social issues, pointing out that racism and sexism are still problems in the US, which may have an impact on Harris's candidacy.

Psaki made her remarks at a time when President Biden is facing increasing pressure from the Democratic Party to resign, especially after a dismal debate performance against former President Trump. Recognizing the difficulties in preparing for a debate, Psaki suggested that the discussion should be on more general concerns rather than preparation for her outspoken criticism of Biden's social media performance.
Psaki stressed that Democrats need to decide quickly on Biden's possible replacement, saying there isn't much time left for the party to take action. She went over other potential replacements for Biden but emphasized that, in the current situation, Harris is by far the greatest choice.
