US President Barack Obama put pressure on Joe Biden to step aside and allow someone else to contest the US Presidential Election 2024, he did not rush to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris. He is yet to endorse the first woman vice president of the country for the highest office. Obama is not alone in doing so. Many senior Democrats including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries declined to immediately endorse Kamala Harris, reports 'Fortune'. Instead, they praised the incumbent president for the service he has rendered to the nation.

Barack Obama wrote in a post on 'Medium' that Biden has been one of America’s most consequential presidents. He also called him a dear friend and partner. He chose Biden as his running mate in 2008 and said that he wanted someone with “gray in his hair.” Praising Biden profusely, Schumer said that he has not only been a great president and a great legislative leader but a truly amazing human being as well. He also said that Biden's decision was not easy, but he put his country, his party, and our future first. Similarly, Jeffries wrote that the US is a better place because President Joe Biden has led the country with intellect, grace, and dignity.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also heaped praise on the incumbent president. She took to social media platform X to write that Joe Biden is a patriotic American who has always put the country first and his legacy of vision,
