When being asked by reporters about his “legacy for LGBTQ Americans”, Biden said that he was the first person to come out for gay marriage and he is proud of it, reports 'The Telegraph'. He also asked the people present there if they remember that little problem with the Obama administration.
According to the news outlet, then vice-president Biden announced on television in 2012 that he supported same-sex marriage before Obama had committed to the policy in public. This sudden change in stance from Biden forced Barack Obama to announce, three days later, that he also supported gay marriage.
