The attention, however, hampered her ability to earn a living. Crowds and social media influencers thronged her stall, prioritising selfies and videos over purchasing garlands. One social media user, Mona Lisa Kumbh Sachin Gupta, observed, “Most people want to click pictures with her, which left her struggling to earn a living.”
Despite being dubbed the “Brown Beauty” by admirers, the overwhelming attention disrupted her work. The influx of YouTubers and visitors seeking content with Monalisa overshadowed her garland selling.
Concerned about the impact of this sudden fame on his daughter, Monalisa’s father decided to bring her back to Indore. He determined the mela was no longer a viable place for her well-being or livelihood.
Large crowds gathered at her stall, taking photos and videos of her, causing disruption and distress. Her family had to intervene to protect her from the unwanted attention. One video showed Monalisa covering her face with a scarf as people crowded around her stall. Pushing and shoving occurred as people tried to
