Opposition to both these policy initiatives led to consolidation among Jats led to the party losing half of the total Lok Sabha seats in Haryana and more than forty per cent of the total seats in Rajasthan.
BJP won five in Haryana and fourteen in Rajasthan, while in 2019 Lok Sabha polls its vote share in both states was more than 50 per cent.
