real estate sector accounted for about 16% of qualified institutional placements (QIPs) in 2024, with eight developers and one REIT collectively raising Rs 22,320 crore, highest share actions sectors in terms of the funds raised.
QIPs issuance across sectors peaked in 2024 with 99 issues raising nearly Rs 1,41,482 crore against 43 QIP issues raising Rs 55,109 crore across sectors.
After the pandemic, Indian real estate developers have been aggressively tapping capital markets through initial public offerings QIPs, according to real estate consultancy Anarock’s analysis of available data trends of listed developers on the National Stock Exchange.
Of the past 11 years, 2024 saw the highest-ever QIP fundraising, including for the real estate sector.
“Despite market fluctuations, capital markets remain robust, and companies continue to attract strategic investments,” said Anuj Puri, chairman, Anarock group.
