Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls
Adani Power Ltd.(up 1.38%) stood among the top gainers.
Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd.(down 7.65%), GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd.(down 7.37%), Indowind Energy Ltd.(down 6.96%), Karma Energy Ltd.(down 6.74%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(down 6.63%), Ravindra Energy Ltd.(down 5.81%), KEC International Ltd.(down 5.35%), ACME Solar Holdings Ltd.(down 5.14%), Torrent Power Ltd.(down 5.03%) and Energy Development Company Ltd.(down 5.01%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 309.8 points down at 23071.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1018.2 points at 76293.6.
Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.36%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 0.74%), Trent Ltd.(up 0.61%) and Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 0.22%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
