Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.44% in an upbeat market

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.67 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(up 1.22 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.28 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 0.01 per cent) were among the top gainers.

J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 1.75 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 1.45 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 1.44 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.11 per cent) and Granules India Ltd.(down 1.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.44 per cent at 21911.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 0.91 points at 23604.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 39.84 points at 78098.0.
