Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.31%
Shares of Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 3.08 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 2.69 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 2.48 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent) and Lupin Ltd.(up 0.73 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.64 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 2.56 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.99 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 1.4 per cent) and Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.65 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.31 per cent up at 22077.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 43.4 points at 23559.95, while the BSE Sensex stood down 197.97 points at 77860.19.
