The NSE Nifty50 index ended 72.96 points down at 24781.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 73.48 points at 81151.27.
Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 4.34%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 2.79%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 1.91%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.15%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.95%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.79%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 0.73%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.59%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.5%) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.46%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
