Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

Pokarna(up 7.13%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 3.99%), Lexus Granito(up 2.76%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores(up 2.36%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 2.33%), Coal India(up 1.67%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.10%) and MOIL(up 0.79%) stood among the top gainers.
KIOCL(down 3.09%), Ashapura Minechem(down 1.66%), 20 Microns(down 0.46%), NMDC Ltd(down 0.42%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.39%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 51.75 points up at 19716.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 173.22 points at 66118.69.
Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 1.8%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.67%), ITC Ltd.(up 1.51%), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.44%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.37%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.25%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.17%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 1.13%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 1.12%) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.08%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Titan Company Ltd.(down 1.47%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 1.37%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.92%), State Bank of India(down 0.78%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 0.75%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.71%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.7%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.7%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.59%) and Tata Steel Ltd.(down 0.58%) closed in the red.
