Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.31%
Shares of IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 2.11 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.73 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.2 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 3.75 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.84 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.31 per cent down at 43754.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 46.4 points at 19624.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 247.78 points at 65629.24.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 ended in the green, while 34 closed in the red.
Shares of JP Power, Vodafone Idea, NBCC, Suzlon Energy and IRB Infra Dev.
were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Aban Offshore, Shakti Pumps, GKW Ltd, DB(Intl)Stock and BPL Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Gensol Engg, Delta Corp, Winsome Yarns, Tarsons Products and V Mart Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
