Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.48% in a weak market

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.55 per cent), Mankind Pharma Ltd.(up 0.52 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(up 0.35 per cent) and Sanofi India Ltd.(up 0.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 2.24 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(down 2.23 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 1.91 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(down 1.68 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 1.63 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.48 per cent at 20665.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 16.8 points at 24596.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 12.09 points at 80704.46.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IRFC, Indian Renewable and IRB Infra Dev. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Krebs Biochem, Just Dial, MTNL, Umang Dairies and Quick Heal Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Regency Ceramic, Shrenik, Akme Fintrade(India, MEP Infrastructure and Praxis Home Retail hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
