Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

Alstom T&D India(up 4.99%), NLC India(up 3.72%), SJVN(up 2.57%), DPSC(up 2.09%), Karma Energy(up 2.06%), CESC(up 1.81%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 1.31%), Adani Transmissions(up 1.29%), Voltamp Transformers(up 1.25%) and NHPC(up 1.21%) were among the top gainers. Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 9.79%), KPI Green Energy(down 4.10%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 3.05%), JSW Energy(down 3.05%), Torrent Power(down 2.77%), Inox wind(down 2.07%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 1.58%), Inox Wind Energy(down 1.13%), Indowind Energy(down 1.08%) and RTNPOWER(down 1.04%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 82.3 points down at 19460.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 264.97 points at 65423.21 at around 10:09AM. HCL Technologies(up 3.5%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 1.54%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.24%), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.66%), Titan Company Ltd(up 0.54%), Tata Motors(up 0.48%), State Bank of India(up 0.35%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.24%), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 0.2%) and Bajaj Finance(up 0.06%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
