As it turns out, yes — yes they do. JPMorgan, which tops the global Ideal Employer rankings, also tops the global rankings for women. Once again, the US bank is dominant, with more votes than the next three employers combined.
What makes JPMorgan so popular with women? Among other things, it runs the “Women on the Move” program, an initiative launched in 2018, and states that its mission is to “help create a more equitable workforce that enables women to achieve financial well-being, grow their skills and advance their careers.” Despite the seemingly organization-focused statement, its efforts are national, focusing as much on female entrepreneurs in the US, as well as health and independence.
We asked people to rank JPMorgan for various qualitative statements too. JPMorgan stood out among our female respondents for its prospects as a long-term career destination, its integrity, and the integrability of its culture (“This company is a place for people like me.”).
Goldman Sachs and Bank of America came second and third among women, respectively. Both banks have their own female networks as they do other protected categories of employee – Goldman has, for example, the women’s network, while Bank of America has Leadership, Education, Advocacy, & Development (LEAD) for women, which fills a similar purpose.
