Vijay Nihalchandani, accompanied by his wife, brother, and business partner, presented his app, which aims to help businesses recover payments through automated reminders. He was seeking Rs 30 lakh in exchange for a 3% stake in his company. However, the sharks were skeptical about the app’s ability to generate consistent revenue.
Emcure Pharmaceuticals’ executive director, Namita Thapar, was the first to voice concerns, questioning whether the app would effectively work against payment defaulters. “Anyone who defaults can easily ignore or block such reminders,” she pointed out, adding that the automated voice messages would likely have little impact.
