Florida's lake Okeechobee is no more a spot for hang outs. The lake once known for being the largest freshwater lake of USA's Floridia is now dying because of the growing toxic algae.
The huge green algae has covered nearly half of the lake and is threatening wildlife, pets, people and even cities. Moreover, the lake has become infamous for releasing toxic gases in the environment.
Green algae present in the lake due to cyanobacteria, produces fumes and waterborne poisons that can easily kill pets that enter in the contaminated water. Moreover, the water can also send their owners to the doctor after inhaling the toxic gas surrounding the lake.
In a recent video shared by an USA-based NGO, Captains4Cleanwater, shows streaks of green algae present in lake Okeechobee in Florida. The video was provided by Floriba-based photographer, Steve Irwin.
