Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, the US presidential candidates, engaged in a highly charged debate yesterday. According to Polymarket data, the debate resulted in a tie, with US Vice President Harris receiving a 3% gain and cryptocurrency receiving no mention at all.
The courteous handshake that opened the 90-minute ABC News-hosted debate swiftly gave way to a contentious discussion of leadership and policies. During the debate, hot-button issues like Bitcoin and cryptocurrency were not much deliberated upon. However, during the discussion, Bitcoin's price rose above $56,000.
After starting with 52% of the vote in favour of Donald Trump, the debate concluded with 49% of the vote going to each candidate. According to a different Polymarket survey, 98% of respondents think Kamala won the debate.

Despite the significant impact of cryptocurrency on the 2024 elections, neither candidate gave it much attention. This occurs at a time when numerous super PACs backed by cryptocurrencies are gaining traction in the market. With the largest donation of $177.8 million going to Fairshake, these funds have already raised more than $202 million.
