Kamala Harris as a potential replacement. She has remained mum on this issue and has fully extended her support to Joe Biden. The New York Times has reported that the VP is actively considering the prospects of gunning for the top position and is also discussing the possible names of those who can be her running mate and who will contest the Vice-Presidential election. The candidate will have to be white man from a swing state who can help the party garner the required votes.
The names of three governors from three key swing states are doing the rounds. Governors Roy Cooper of North Carolina, Andy Beshear of Kentucky and Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania are being actively considered by Kamala Harris.

If Harris is nominated by the Democrats, she will become the first Black and Asian American female to be nominated by a political party for the top post. The Blacks have traditionally voted for the Democrats and nominating Harris will help in consolidating the party’s vote bank consisting of Blacks as well as women. The nomination of a white male from one of the swing states will help in ensuring the much-needed victory in these swing states.
