You thought China was behind? Researchers develop record-breaking 504-qubit quantum computer that can challenge the best
China has achieved a huge and significant milestone in the field of quantum computing with the introduction of the Tianyan-504 which is actually a powerful 504-qubit quantum computer, reported Interesting Engineering.
According to Interesting Engineering, the record breaking computer has been eventually developed through collaboration between the China Telecom Quantum Group (CTQG), the Chinese Academy of Sciences and QuantumCTek while at the same time this advancement includes the Xiaohong superconducting chip which eventually sets a domestic record for qubit count.

The Tianyan-504 will be integrated into the Tianyan quantum computing cloud platform which was primarily launched in the month of November of the year 2023 while allowing global access to its capabilities. Interesting Engineering asserted that this platform has already achieved over 12 million visits from users in more than 50 countries which is being proved to be a huge attraction.
The Xiaohong chip is specifically designed to enhance quantum computing performance and is gradually expected to match leading international platforms like IBM in key metrics such as qubit lifetime and gate fidelity, noted Interesting Engineering. Though, however several researchers emphasized on the fact that the primary goal is to develop large and huge scale measurement and control systems rather than merely achieving higher computing power.
