The Honey Influencer Scam is the latest among other phishing and financial scandals that have come out in the open in 2024. Honey is a browser extension by PayPal, which helps consumers search for coupon codes while shopping for their favorite products online. It was an independent venture, but was later acquired by PayPal in the year 2020 for a whopping $4 billion. This extension has been promoted by a hoard of celebrities, including the likes of MrBeast, one of the most popular faces of the online community.
However, this particular browser extension is allegedly indulging into deceptive practices, offers limited coupon options on the extension, and even publishes misleading advertisements to lure innocent consumers.
