civil aviation security and intelligence agencies have been issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation (BCAS) in view of the «evolving security challenges», especially the «emerging trend» of issuing hoax bomb threats through various social media platforms. In the past two weeks, more than 510 domestic and international flights have received bomb threats that later turned out to be hoaxes. The threats were issued mostly through anonymous handles on social media platform X. This has caused «major» operational and financial distress for the airlines. As per the current practice, a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) is convened at a designated airport to analyse a bomb or security threat issued against an airline, airport or any part of the aviation ecosystem that decides to declare it «specific» or serious or «non-specific» or hoax.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday defended ban on firecrackers, saying it is necessary for protecting people from pollution and there is no 'Hindu-Muslim' angle to it. Kejriwal said Diwali is a festival of lights and it should be celebrated by lighting 'diya' and candles instead of bursting firecrackers that cause pollution. «It's not that we are doing any favour to others. We are doing favour to ourselves because ultimately we and our small kids will suffer from the pollution caused (by bursting crackers),» he said in a press conference.

Pursuant to Regulation 42 of the Listing Regulations, the Company has vide its letter dated October 16, 2024 already informed to Stock Exchanges regarding the Record Date of November 08, 2024,” said the company in an exchange filing.

Dabur on Wednesday announced the acquisition of Sesa Care, engaged in the Ayurvedic personal care and wellness segment, at an enterprise value of Rs 315-325 crore. This new acquisition will help Dabur to expand in the Rs 900 crore ayurvedic hair oil market, the company said in a regulatory filing. It has entered into an agreement to acquire the majority 51 per cent stake from its shareholder True North (a private equity fund) for Rs 12 crore at face value.

Supreme Court has said courts cannot impose a condition on the accused to furnish bail bonds after six months of the passing of the bail order. A bench of Justices Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma said if the court was satisfied on merits, it should either grant bail or reject it. On October 24, the apex court dealt with a petition filed by a man who had challenged an order of the Patna High Court, directing him to furnish bail bonds after six months in a case against him under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Amendment Act.

Datawrkz, a subsidiary of listed gaming and media firm Nazara Technologies, on Wednesday said it has fully acquired UK-based growth marketing agency Space & Time. The deal was valued at around Rs 52.3 crore, it said in an exchange filing. The company said acquiring Space & Time will help in expanding across Europe and North America and boosting its growth in the global digital advertising market. It will also boost Datawrkz’s revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) through cross-selling of products and services, it said.

fiscal deficit for the first half of this fiscal year through September stood at 4.75 lakh crore rupees, or 29.4% of annual estimates, government data showed today. The fiscal deficit widened from 39.3% reported in the comparable year-earlier period. Total receipts stood at 16.37 lakh crore rupees, while overall expenditure in April to September was at 21.11 lakh crore rupees. They were 51% and 43.8% of this fiscal year's budget target.
