Booking Airlines Boeing reports International Destinations Sporting Fleet could be flat, but the purpose is good: Air India chief Campbell Wilson
Air India Express will take delivery of several narrow-body planes during the year, allowing it to capture strong growth opportunities in the latter half of the year on domestic and short-haul international routes. «Well, our operating fleet is going to be pretty flat this year (FY26), in part because of delays to delivery, but also because we're taking aircraft out of service to do the refit, the Boeing B787s and the B777s in particular. And so, it means that we're actually not able to grow. But it's an investment for a good purpose,» said Wilson. Air India currently has a fleet of 198 planes including 70 inherited from Vistara-the erstwhile full-service joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines. Separately, Air India Express operates 103 aircraft-36 Airbus and 67 Boeing-including 38 new Boeing jetliners from an October 2023 order. Nine more narrow-bodies are slated to join by this June.

Apple, Tesla and Ford Motor are among companies contributing the most to recently lowered estimates for the quarter, along with some insurers, whose projections have been hurt by fires in California early this year, according to Tajinder Dhillon, senior research analyst at LSEG. S&P 500 forecasts for the first quarter of 2025 have fallen by 4.5 percentage points since January 1, the largest downward revision since the fourth quarter of 2023, he said. Earnings growth for S&P 500 companies is now seen at 7.7% year-over-year, which would be the lowest since 2023's third quarter and a big decline from 17.1% in the fourth quarter of 2024, based on Friday's LSEG data. While a handful of companies have already reported on the quarter, the unofficial start of the first-quarter season is still weeks away.

He stated that he had strong doubts about the legitimacy of the texts in the group because he could not believe that national security leadership of the US would communicate on Signal about imminent war plans. However, the journalist was soon convinced of its authenticity. He saw real-time discussions involving senior officials of the Trump administration, including Vice President JD Vance and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth.

AI) is unlikely to have as much material impact on organised-sector headcount in India as in the West, a top government official said Monday, as far fewer white-collar jobs are potentially at risk here than in the advanced industrial economies. «The reason we don't see it as much of a threat in India is possibly because we don't have as many white-collar jobs at stake, and we don't see as many office jobs at stake,» S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), told delegates at the ETTelecom 5G Congress. «Today's generative AI mostly replaces manual, repetitive work.» Rather, Krishnan said, AI's assistance can enhance workforce productivity. «The application of AI into the real segments of the economy, like manufacturing and agriculture, is really possible when there's an interplay between sensors, IoT devices communicating along 5G and 6G networks, going into a central server, collecting the data and putting it all together, so that it can work,» Krishnan said.

Soon after the Upper House met for the day, minority affairs minister Kiren Rijiju alleged that a Congress leader, holding a Constitutional position, has said his party can change the Constitution to give reservation to Muslims. While Rijiju did not name the person, leader of the House JP Nadda said Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar has given a statement that if need be we will change the Constitution to give reservation to Muslims. «I have to say with great sadness that the Congress which claims to protect the Constitution is flouting it. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, who drafted the Constitution, said reservations will not be given on the basis of religion. But in Karnataka, the Congress government has passed a bill to give 4% reservation in public contracts to Muslims… They want to shred the Constitution,» Nadda said. However, leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, who also hails from Karnataka, refuted the charges. «I will only say that nobody can change or end the Constitution made by Ambedkar. We carried out the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to protect the Constitution… We are the ones who stand for protecting the Constitution,» he said. As the Congress and BJP members shouted slogans against each other, the House was adjourned till 2pm.
