Provident Target Digital economy innovations reports International Indian space economy to reach $44 bn by 2033: FICCI-EY report
Indian space economy is aiming to reach USD 44 billion by 2033 from USD 8.4 billion in 2022, said a FICCI-EY report on 'Unlocking India's Space Economy — Pathways to Growth, Innovation and Global Leadership', released today at Bharat Space Conclave 2025', organized by FICCI. According to the report, the global space economy is projected to exceed USD 1.8 trillion by 2035, with commercial satellite services, deep-space exploration, and space-based infrastructure driving expansion. The report further states that India has set an ambitious target to grow its space economy from USD 8.4 billion in 2022 to USD 44 billion by 2033, aiming to capture 8 per cent of the global market. This growth is being fuelled by policy reforms, private sector participation, and increased international collaboration, supported by the Indian Space Policy 2023 and institutions such as IN-SPACe and NSIL. FICCI-EY report notes that a significant shift is underway, with India's space sector evolving from a government-led model to a commercially driven, innovation-led ecosystem. Satellite communication (SATCOM), projected to reach USD 14.8 billion by 2033, will play a critical role in expanding digital connectivity, particularly in rural and underserved regions.

Cooper Fighting President War reports peace US arms flow to Ukraine again as Kremlin mulls ceasefire proposal
US arms deliveries to Ukraine resumed Wednesday, officials said, a day after the Trump administration lifted its suspension of military aid for Kyiv in its fight against Russia's invasion, and Ukrainian officials signalled that they were open to a 30-day ceasefire backed by Washington. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday that it's important not to «get ahead» of the question of responding to the ceasefire proposal. He told reporters that Moscow is awaiting «detailed information» about it from the US and suggested that Russia must get that first before it can take a position. Arms deliveries to Ukraine have already resumed through a Polish logistics centre, the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Poland announced Wednesday. The deliveries go through a NATO and US hub in the eastern Polish city of Rzeszow that's has been used to ferry Western weapons into neighboring Ukraine about 70 km away. The American military help is vital for Ukraine's shorthanded and weary army, which is having a tough time keeping Russia's bigger military force at bay. But for Moscow, more American aid spells potentially more difficulty in achieving its war aims and likely will be a tough sell in Moscow for Washington's peace efforts. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Wednesday that Washington will pursue «multiple points of contacts» with Russia to see if President Vladimir Putin is ready to negotiate an end to the war. He declined to give details. «The ball is truly in their court,» Rubio said at a refueling stopover in Shannon, Ireland on his way to talks in Canada with other Group of Seven leading industrialised nations.

Progressive Bill Diversity cover information reports recommendations Parliamentary panel presses MIB to expedite Broadcast Bill rollout
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) to set a deadline for completing the process and introducing the Broadcasting Services Regulation Bill in Parliament at the earliest opportunity. The committee made this recommendation in a draft action-taken report on its observations and recommendations from the 56th report on the regulation of cable television in India, which was tabled in Parliament on Tuesday. The second draft of the Broadcast Bill, introduced in July, was withdrawn in August last year following backlash from media industry stakeholders over the lack of transparency in consultations, which were held with only a select group. Another major concern of the industry was that the Bill contained vague terms that could potentially grant arbitrary powers to government officials. In its response to the committee on 17 January, the MIB stated that a fresh draft of the Bill would be published after detailed consultations.

UPS Trade President Universities War show country Trump tariffs: World including India watches Canada test ways of fighting back
Donald Trump’s administration are watching Canada to get a preview of what happens when you hit back. Canadian officials have gone hostile in their responses to Trump’s trade war. Ontario Premier Doug Ford slapped a 25% charge on electricity exports to make power more expensive for people in New York and two other states — earning the president’s ire. Mark Carney, the incoming prime minister, called the US “a country we can no longer trust,” and said his new government will keep its retaliatory tariffs in place “until the Americans show us respect.” On Tuesday, the brinkmanship seemed to pay off: Trump started the day threatening to double tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum to 50%, but by day’s end both sides had pulled back. Ford suspended the electricity tax, prompting Trump to say “I respect that” and drop the metals levy back to 25%. Trump’s tariffs on steel and aluminum — which came into force on US imports on Wednesday — drew a swift response from Canada and the European Union. The government in Ottawa announced new 25% counter-tariffs on about C$30 billion ($20.8 billion) of US-made items, while Brussels laid out countermeasures against US goods worth as much as €26 billion ($28.3 billion). But other metals-exporting countries including Japan and South Korea held off on any immediate retaliation. Even before that widening of the trade war, Mélanie Joly, Canada’s foreign minister, had issued a warning to other nations. Watch what Trump is doing to Canada, she said. “You’re next.”

Provident Citizens Aware Action WhatsApp information rights Risk losing inheritance if parents, seniors not cared for, says Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda
Krishna Byre Gowda on Wednesday. Under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, by the central government, any will or gift deed made in favor of neglectful children can be legally revoked, he said while speaking in the Legislative Council. «In recent times, we have seen a growing number of cases where elderly parents are left without care,» Gowda said while responding to a question from Balkees Banu, a member of the council. " If children or relatives neglect their elderly parents, the seniors have the legal right to revoke any will or gift deed made in their name,” he added. The Central Government enacted the law in 2007, but awareness remains low, the minister noted. The legislation mandates that children or relatives must provide financial and medical support to senior citizens. If they fail to do so, elderly parents can file a complaint under Section 9, after which authorities can take action. “If a complaint is proven, and children or relatives who have inherited property fail to take care of their parents, Section 23 allows for the cancellation of any will or gift deed made in their favor, restoring ownership to the parents,’ Gowda informed. The responsibility for handling these cases lies with the sub-divisional officers. The revenue minister stressed that thousands of such cases are already being heard by the officers
