Wockhardt has denied 'conflict of interest' and 'corruption' allegations made by the Congress party against Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch over rental payments made by its affiliate Carol Info Service, even as the Mumbai-based drugmaker is involved in multiple cases with market regulator, including that of insider trading. BJP has 'struck a deal' with regional parties, independents to form J-K govt: Omar Abdullah
National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on Saturday alleged that the BJP has «struck a deal» with some regional parties and some independent candidates to be part of the government in Jammu and Kashmir. Referring to remarks by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Jammu, Abdullah said he was «silent» about Apni Party and People's Conference during his speech at the BJP's manifesto launch on Friday. "...those who have struck a deal with Delhi will not fulfill your demands. If you need evidence for this, just look at the statement of Home Minister Amit Shah in Jammu yesterday," the NC vice president said. «The home minister listed the parties with which the BJP will not form the government. He was, however, silent about the independents because they are hand in glove (with them). He was silent about Apni Party and People's Conference,» he said.

Wockhardt hits back after Congress accuses Sebi chief Madhabi Puri of insider trading and property manipulation
Wockhardt has denied allegations regarding payment of rent by Carol Info Services and its connection with certain orders passed by SEBI in relation to the company. «In this regard, we categorically deny these allegations and state that these allegations are completely baseless and misleading,» Wockhardt said in a regulatory filing late Friday. It said the company has acted and continues to act in compliance with all applicable laws. On Friday, the Congress' media and publicity department head, Pawan Khera said that between 2018 and 2024, Madhabi Buch — as a whole-time member and later chairperson of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) — had been receiving rental income amounting to Rs 2.16 crore from Carol Info Services, a company affiliated to Wockhardt.

AI Express, Akasa rip premium seats even as no-frills IndiGo adds business class
₹3,500 over and above its regular fare, Air India Express tagged its business class seats at about ₹16,000 in the Delhi-Mumbai sector. That’s still lower than the ₹26,000 charged by its parent entity, the Tata Group-owned full service Air India, for a business class seat on the same route. “We would have replaced these business class seats earlier itself if these replacements were available earlier," a senior Air India Express executive said on condition of anonymity.

J&K polls: Omar Abdullah smells 'conspiracy' against him from Delhi
National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah on Friday alleged that leaders in New Delhi 'hate' him, want to 'silence' him and 'keep conspiring' against him, as he represents the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. «This is a strange election. I knew that leaders in Delhi never liked me. But now I have realised that they hate me and they want to silence me,» said Abdullah, while addressing an election rally here. Abdullah, while referring to his loss in the Lok Sabha polls from Baramulla against jailed Awami Ittehad Party leader Engineer Rashid, said, «A candidate who was behind bars (Engineer Rashid) filed the nomination against me. He recorded an audio clip and circulated it among the electorate… I thought maybe it was my bad luck. I did not see any conspiracy in it. But for the last 2 to 3 days, it seems like a conspiracy to me… daal main kuch kala hai… I don't understand in this situation how those behind bars file nominations only against me.»

‘Call Me Bae’ review: A woefully thin riches-to-rags comedy
Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom is a 1975 film by Pier Paolo Pasolini. It's one of the most disturbing and difficult viewing experiences in cinema, a long series of degradations visited upon a group of teens by sadistic fascists. It runs just under two hours.

SC reserves verdict on Arvind Kejriwal's pleas
Supreme Court has reserved its verdict on pleas filed by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal seeking bail and challenging his arrest by CBI for his alleged involvement in the Delhi excise policy case. Senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Kejriwal, said his arrest was nothing but an «insurance arrest», implying that CBI arrested him only to ensure that even if the CM gets bail in the ED case, he remains behind bars in CBI case. The CBI counsel alleged the Punjab government, at Kejriwal's behest, has denied sanction to prosecute some state officials who allegedly arm-twisted the owner of a Punjab-based distillery to comply with the alleged bribe demands. The counsel said the probe regarding that is stalled since the AAP government there hasn't given sanction under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
