When a prayer was made by a lawyer for an urgent hearing of his petition, she said, «The court is not giving you any leave in any demolition matters». The petitioner's lawyer claimed that the date of demolition is March 20 and that the entire exercise will become futile if the matter comes up for hearing later.

Indian Navy warship INS Kolkata is set to bring 35 apprehended pirates to India. «The Indian Navy warship INS Kolkata has taken 35 sea pirates into custody and is being brought to India along with the 17 crew members rescued after the major operation,» officials said on Sunday. During the operation, the Indian Navy forced the pirates to surrender and rescued 17 crew members from the distressed merchant vessel MV Ruen on Saturday. The merchant vessel is also being brought to India.

Election Commission that someone delivered to its office an envelope with electoral bonds worth Rs 10 crore way back in 2019, which it encashed within days but has got no information on the donors. As the Election Commission on Sunday made public hundreds of sealed-cover disclosures submitted to it by various political parties, filings made by Bihar's ruling party showed that it got electoral bonds totalling more than Rs 24 crore. The party also disclosed the names of Bharti Airtel and Shree Cement as its donors for bonds with Rs 1 crore and Rs 2 crore, respectively. In another filing, the JD(U) disclosed donations totalling Rs 24.4 crore through these bonds, many of which were issued from SBI branches in Hyderabad and Kolkata, and a few were issued in Patna.

Shajahan Sheikh's brother Sheikh Alamgir and two others, arrested by the CBI for the assault on ED officers during a raid in Sandeshkhali on January 5, to five days' custody of the central agency, police said. Basirhat sub-divisional court sent Alamgir, Sirajul Molla and Mafijul Molla to five-day CBI custody, they said. The CBI on Saturday arrested Alamgir and the two others following a marathon questioning in connection with the attack. The agency suspects that these people were allegedly part of the attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials and instigated a crowd to target the team when they went to raid the premises of Sheikh.
