Adani is eyeing a tiny Himalayan kingdom to power his international blueprint
Gautam Adani is exploring investment opportunities in Bhutan's Gelephu Mindfulness City, a new urban project aimed at transforming the southern region of the Himalayan kingdom into a thriving economic hub. Gelephu Governor Lotay Tshering told Bloomberg, Bhutan is engaging with the Adani Group, led by Asia's second-richest individual, to develop solar and hydroelectric plants within this ambitious 1,000-square-kilometer township near the Indian border. Bhutan’s investment initiative underscores its long-standing alliance with India, which views Bhutan’s growth as strategic for countering China’s influence in the region. This partnership offers Adani Group a chance to bolster its green energy portfolio, aligning with its existing international projects across Israel, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Vietnam. Governor Tshering, who served as Bhutan’s Prime Minister until 2023, revealed that hundreds of sites have been identified for renewable energy projects in the Gelephu area. With an estimated capacity addition of 20 gigawatts, the project aims to establish a sustainable energy network. This includes planned contracts for constructing roads, bridges, and facilities that could attract investors from across Asia.

Geopolitical analysis, VIP onboard among criteria in new norms to check hoax bomb threats to flights
civil aviation security and intelligence agencies have been issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation (BCAS) in view of the «evolving security challenges», especially the «emerging trend» of issuing hoax bomb threats through various social media platforms. In the past two weeks, more than 510 domestic and international flights have received bomb threats that later turned out to be hoaxes. The threats were issued mostly through anonymous handles on social media platform X. This has caused «major» operational and financial distress for the airlines. As per the current practice, a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) is convened at a designated airport to analyse a bomb or security threat issued against an airline, airport or any part of the aviation ecosystem that decides to declare it «specific» or serious or «non-specific» or hoax.

RBI unlikely to go for immediate rate cut, despite inflation likely to cool: Ind-Ra
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) are unlikely. According to Ind-Ra, the persistent pressure of elevated food prices continues to drive inflation, suggesting that any potential reduction in interest rates will hinge on evidence of stable inflation trends nearing the RBI's target of 4 percent. As such, market participants may need to brace for a prolonged period without rate cuts in the near future. While inflation and weak industrial activity weigh on the economy, there are positive signs in rural demand, driven by improved real wages for rural labourers in July and August 2024, and above-normal rainfall in most of the country. These factors are expected to boost consumption demand.

Georgia is one of the seven key battleground states and Patel says the Indian-American community could play a significant role in swinging the election in Harris's favour.
