Deputy director Milind Atrey highlighted the high admission ranks for Economics students, ranging between 1,000 and 2,000, and praised their strong JEE (Advanced) scores.

GE Aerospace plans to boost component sourcing from India as the aviation sector in the country expands. GE Aerospace already operates a manufacturing facility in Pune and the John F Welch Technology Centre in Bengaluru. NLC India has said it is in the process of participating in the upcoming auctions of critical mineral resources and aims to achieve the annual capacity of mining one million tonnes of such materials by 2029-30. NLC India's core business include mining of coal and lignite as well as power generation. Having critical mineral capacity assumes significance amid increasing demand of these resources for a wide range of activities from semiconductor manufacturing to renewable energy projects, including those related to production of solar panels, wind turbines and advanced batteries for storage and transportation. «With the recent developments in renewable energy sector and the strategic importance of the critical minerals required for RE (renewable energy), we are in the process of participating in upcoming auctions and envision achieving a critical mineral mining capacity of 1.0 MTPA by 2029-30,» the company said in its recent report.

The study identified cadmium, arsenic, chromium, copper, zinc, molybdenum, and lead in most PM2.5 samples across all six districts. The highest HEI value was found in Ludhiana (21.78), followed by East Delhi (21.45) and Panchkula (10.74). The median HEI value stood at 8. The study noted a decrease in HEI in East Delhi and Jaisalmer during the lockdown period.

Bank of America (BofA) has placed two bankers in India on administrative leave as part of an internal investigation following a whistleblower complaint, alleging they had tipped off certain investors of upcoming secondary offerings, the Financial Times reported. The tip-off from the bankers — including a senior member of BofA's Indian investment banking operation — allowed the investors to «front run» the stock sales and profit from non-public information, FT said citing unnamed sources. While the BofA investigation is looking at a number of deals, it is focused on a $200-million stock sale for Sun Life, the life insurance subsidiary of Indian conglomerate Aditya Birla, in March, it said.
