Elon Musk-headed DOGE should look into $250m budget for Snow White, suggests Joe Rogan
Joe Rogan has ridiculed Disney’s Snow White remake after its disappointing box office debut. He suggested that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) should probe its production costs. The film, as per reports, had a budget of around $250 million but earned just $43 million at its opening weekend across the United States and Canada. In the second week of its running, the film saw a steep decline of 66 per cent in viewers. The film has become one of Disney’s biggest box office failures in recent years. As per reports, during an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, comedian Kurt Metzger joined Rogan in dissecting the film’s downfall. Playing the footage of CGI dwarfs, Rogan said that it looked bad and did not look real at all. Responding to his comments, Metzger said that the makers put it all on the lead actor, Rachel Zegler. He said that her performance might not have been great, but that she’s young. He commented that Zegler did not write the script and that she did not decide to remove the dwarves. He added that Peter Dinklage did.

No batteries? Thinner packaging? US businesses look for ways to offset tariffs
batteries. Toys sold in slimmed-down boxes or no packaging at all. More household goods that shoppers need to assemble themselves. These are some of the ways consumer product companies are retooling their wares to reduce costs and avoid raising prices as President Donald Trump levies new import taxes on key trading partners as well as some materials used by American manufacturers. The economic environment in which the president has imposed, threatened and occasionally postponed repeated rounds of tariffs is more precarious than during his first term. U.S. consumers are feeling tapped out after several years of inflation. Businesses say tariffs add to their expenses and eat into their profits, but they are wary of losing sales if they try to pass all of the increase on to customers. Instead, some companies are exploring cost-cutting options, both ones that consumers likely would notice in time — remember “shrinkflation?” — and ones that exist too far down the supply chain for them to see. The changes may help minimize price increases yet won't be enough in every case to offset them completely.

L2: Empuraan breaks Malayalam cinema’s opening records, grosses Rs 22 crore on day 1
L2: Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has set a new benchmark at the box office with a record-breaking Rs 22 crore collection on its opening day. The film has reportedly shattered previous records, surpassing even the highest day-one earnings in Malayalam film history by more than double. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, L2: Empuraan raked in Rs 22 crore in India on its release day, a figure that dwarfs the previous record of Rs 8.95 crore set by Prithviraj’s The Goat Life earlier this year. The previous top opening was set by Lucifer in 2019, which earned Rs 6.10 crore. Notably, the film enjoyed a strong 60% occupancy across all Malayalam shows, with certain regions like Kochi and Kozhikode—where Mohanlal enjoys immense popularity—seeing occupancy rates soar past 90%, with almost all shows selling out. The impressive Rs 22 crore total includes Rs 19.45 crore from Malayalam audiences, while the Telugu version earned Rs 1.2 crore. However, the film's dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada saw more modest returns, contributing just Rs 1.35 crore combined on opening day.
