Platform Fighting Injustice Anthem country social Sport continues to be a catalyst for protest
When Colin Kaepernick took a knee during the US national anthem at NFL games to protest against racial injustice in 2016, little did he know the butterfly effect his deed would have as it sparked debates and polarised a country. But his gesture has since been embraced by top leagues around the world, none more so than England’s Premier League. A spillover from the Black Lives Matter movement that began over three years ago, the league’s players continue to fight discrimination by taking a knee before some games this season. “We are unified in our belief that any form of discrimination has no place within football or wider society,” the 20 Premier League captains said earlier this year. The continued protests are, to a large extent, to do with rampant online abuse which rears its ugly head every week, with social media platforms seemingly unable to stem the flow of unbridled rage and racial abuse that lands in players’ inboxes.

Actor stage country reports travelers recommendations NOT Very little said about 4.5 lakh displaced Kashmiri Pandits because they were not "big electorate": Ex-SC judge Kaul
Kashmiri Pandits who got displaced from the Valley with the advent of separatist militancy, possibly because they were not «such a big electorate» as to invite «political intervention», former Supreme Court judge Sanjay Kishan Kaul has said. Justice Kaul, who was part of the bench which upheld the abrogation of Article 370 in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, and recommended setting up an «impartial truth and reconciliation commission» to probe and report on human rights violations by both state and non-state actors since the 1980s, said people of different communities lived in unity before insurgency shattered the peace and he was at a loss to comprehend how the situation «slowly degenerated». A Kashmiri Pandit himself, Kaul feels, it is time now for the people to move forward, after more than 30 years of unbridled violence. In an interview with PTI on Friday, Justice Kaul spoke about the unanimous verdict of the five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud which upheld the Centre's decision to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution that bestowed special status on Jammu and Kashmir. «It was a unanimous verdict which means all of us must have thought that this is the correct path to follow. Of course, every judgement, especially every important judgement, will generate debates.
