(Reuters) -Meta Platforms said on Thursday that businesses purchasing a «boost» for their posts on the iOS versions of its social media apps Facebook (NASDAQ:META) and Instagram would need to pay an extra 30% service charge to app store operator Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL).

Bima Sugam, or Digital Public Infrastructure, is set to empower and protect the interest of policyholders, to increase penetration of insurance in India. This will also enhance availability, accessibility and affordability of insurance in the country, reads the draft guidelines released by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).

National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has dismissed a lawsuit demanding an investigation into the affairs of Indiabulls Housing Finance that was brought to court by Supertech Realtors. Supertech Realtors alleged that Indiabulls Housing Finance had illegally deducted excess sums of money from its loan account. In its lawsuit, the real estate firm alleged that the total sum accrued to it was ₹5,873 crore but Indiabulls Housing Finance deducted ₹6,150 crore from its loan account. It alleged that this was a fraudulent act which had public interest ramifications because it would impinge on its ability to deliver flats to customers.

HSN codes for certain rice varieties to enable exports of those which are traditionally not consumed by the people in the country, a senior official said on Tuesday. At present, all categories of non-basmati white rice are banned for exports. According to a presentation of the Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), they are working on separate HSN codes for GI (Geographical Indications) rice varieties like Red rice, Black rice and Kalanamak rice. In international trade parlance, every product is categorised under an HSN code (Harmonised System of Nomenclature). It helps in the systematic classification of goods across the globe.

The DCGI has come out with a document for sampling of drugs, cosmetics and medical devices to ensure their better quality. The list of spurious drug or drugs which are not of standard quality (NSQ) have to be published on the drug regulatory authority's website every month, the document said. The document states the draft regulatory guidelines for sampling of drugs, cosmetics and medical devices by drugs inspectors of central and state drug authorities. «This guideline will be useful for effective surveillance for quality and efficacy of drugs and cosmetics by adopting uniform drug sampling methodology for drug inspectors under drug regulatory authorities of state and central,» it said.

Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India to finalise the code of conduct or guidelines preferably in three months for the effective functioning of the committee of creditors (CoC). The finalisation of the guidelines should be done without diluting the sanctity of the «commercial wisdom» of the committee of creditors and the legislative intent of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, it observed. Expressing displeasure over how the board hasn’t yet framed the guidelines, Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav noted that the board had notified a discussion paper in 2021 on various issues, including the code of conduct for the CoC.

The government plans to amend the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 to include regulations for deep fakes.
